SUMMARY:New Opportunities for Coal Communities
DESCRIPTION:The Interagency Working Group (IWG) on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization is pleased to partner with the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) on New Opportunities for Coal Communities\, a virtual event on Thursday\, September 16 from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. ET. Please register for the event and plan to join us. Attendees will experience a virtual tour of Matewan\, WV – a community at the center of coal-impacted Appalachia – through videos of the community and its members and hear ideas and best practices from 10 ARC POWER partners from West Virginia and Kentucky on strengthening coal-impacted community workforce and economies. Following this interactive discussion and virtual tour\, ARC will announce its POWER Initiative award recipients. A full agenda is now available.
