The recently enacted bipartisan infrastructure law (BIL) is poised to unleash historic investment in America’s infrastructure. More than $100 billion will be available to support projects urgently needed by many energy communities, including federal funding to install broadband internet, clean up abandoned mine lands and orphaned oil and gas wells, expand domestic production of critical minerals, and deliver clean water – in addition to investing in roads, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure.
To help energy communities prepare to capitalize on this once-in-a-generation opportunity, please mark your calendar and register here for a webinar on Wednesday, Feb. 23 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm EST. This virtual session organized by the Interagency Working Group (IWG) on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization will include:
- A status update from the White House Infrastructure Task Force on the BIL’s implementation plans
- An overview of the new and expanded opportunities now available in the IWG’s federal funding clearinghouse thanks to the BIL
- A how-to guide for finding and filtering relevant funding opportunities in the clearinghouse
- Representatives from the U.S. Departments of Energy and Interior discussing new and expanded programs that can directly support the needs of energy communities
- A moderated discussion with the panelists
If you have any specific questions for presenters, please submit them when you register for the webinar or email us at [email protected]. There will not be an option to submit questions during the webinar, so we encourage you to send them to us beforehand.
